Q: What is PayPal?

A: Paypal is an account-based system that lets anyone with an email address to securely send and receive online payments using their credit card. SC-CAMFT now uses PayPal to enable you to pay online by credit card when you join, renew your membership, or register for SC-CAMFT trainings.

Q: Is PayPal secure?

A: Yes. PayPal uses SSL technology to keep your information safe. When you send a payment using PayPal, SC-CAMFT will not receive your sensitive financial information like the your credit card or bank account number. We will only get a notice that the money has been credited.

Q: What types of credit cards does PayPal accept?

A: VISA, MasterCard, Discover, and American Express.

Q: Can I accept money as well as make payments through my PayPal account?

A: You can accept payments only if you open a PayPal Business account.

Q: Is there a charge for using my PayPal account to make online payments?

A: No. There is only a charge when you receive money online through a PayPal Business account.

Q: Should I set up a Personal or a Business account?

A: If you plan to accept credit card payments, e.g., from your clients, you must have a Business account. Business accounts do not charge you to make payments, but you will be charged if you receive payment on your account. If you only want an account that will enable you to make payments online, you will probably want to open a Personal account. Personal accounts are free, but may not receive credit card payments.

Q: How do I set up a PayPal account?

A: Choose the Pay Online option on either the Membership application form or the Program Registration form on this site. It will take you directly to a one-page application that you fill out one time, and add your credit or debit card information. You would then simply push a "Send Money" tab, and enter the email address of SC-CAMFT, as well as the amount of the payment. This information is encrypted for your security. Or simply go to www.paypal.com and set up an account there.
