Love Relationships in the 21st Century – with Aude Castagna, LMFT

From the research and discussion based on the books The State of Affairs by Esther Perel, The New Rules of Marriage by Terrence Real, and Wired for Love by Stan Tatkin.

Therapists will learn the latest data and tools to guide couples and families experiencing relationship difficulties. Attendees will gain insights into the evolving partnership models in the 21st century, how to proceed with an affair, how to understand Millennials’ way of relating romantically, and the various alternative partnerships to traditional marriage according to E. Perel. From the highlights of T. Real’s book, therapists will get insights about how to help men be in touch with their vulnerability and be better husbands and fathers. From a summary of Stan Tatkin’s research, attendees will learn about the neurobiology of love and how to support couples with different attachment styles weave a "couple bubble."

  • Attendees will learn to identify elements of the neurobiology of love and attachment styles according to Tatkin
  • Attendees will learn to identify elements of the ‘relational grid’ according to Terry Real
  • Attendees will be able to name three attitudes toward infidelity that couples generally hold according to the work by Esther Perel
