EFT Basics — Navigating Pitfalls in Couple Relationships

October 11, 2019
9:00 am - 11:30 am

Presented by:
Vanessa Wilson, LMFT

1.5 CE Credits

Navigating couple distress can be extremely challenging. However, helping create security in a couple’s bond can be a most rewarding experience. Emotionally Focused Therapy for Couples (EFT created by Dr Sue Johnson) is an extremely effective approach in supporting couples in navigating their distress and creating strong, long-lasting bonds. EFT offers therapists a clear roadmap to use when working with people in distressed relationships. This introduction to EFT is helpful for therapists currently working with couples as well as those interested in starting couples’ work.

This presentation is relevant for people who have knowledge of attachment theory, previous EFT training, or for those who are new to the theory and concepts. Apply the information you learn into your own relationship as well! Love really is the most powerful force in the universe. Come learn about the new Science of Love and the practical applications of the ground-breaking research that this approach has to offer.

Learning Objectives:

Participants of this presentation will:

  • Learn to identify the reasons why it is best to save conversations about needs until Stage 2 of therapy
  • Be able to identify markers of de-escalation
  • Be able to identify and distinguish adult attachment protests.
