Presented by:

Sage DeRosier, MA, LMFT

1.75 CEUs

You are invited to learn about practical, clinical ways to use/build upon your foundational knowledge of polyvagal theory in session work with clients. Polyvagal Theory is rich, complex, and can be difficult to translate and distill into clinical work. Our June Café CAMFT session will allow you to hear how an experienced therapist effectively translates and uses polyvagal concepts in psychotherapeutic sessions to directly empower and benefit clients. You'll learn proven strategies and effective interventions related to helping clients re-pattern their nervous systems, build capacities for regulation, and create autonomic pathways of safety and connection.

Session Goals

In this workshop, participants will learn to:

  • Name and explain each of the three major vagus nerve states to clients using simple terms.
  • Relate each major vagus nerve state to common client experiences.
  • Effectively communicate at least two ways clients can practice and exercise polyvagal flexibility.

About the Presenter:

Sage DeRosier, MA, LMFT is a holistic psychotherapist with a strong experiential and process-oriented focus as well as a bias toward personal empowerment. Sage has significant experience,  interest, and success working with the complexities of relationships, especially issues of transition and significant life changes including navigating grief, loss, and bereavement, as well as exploring the spectrums of gender and sexuality (acceptance, education, orientation, safety & risk assessment, and deepening understanding).
